May 14, 2018 - May 18, 2018 Weekly Agenda

Monday, May 14th:
Present your final draft or your final presentation of your monologue
Final Draft: 
Jose Alfaro - Waking up paralyzed from a coma caused by the drunk driving of his friend

Madeline - friends with a bullied student who commits suicide

Bryan - can't find car keys to take little brother to soccer practice. Calls mom and gets frustrated with her flightiness. After getting in an argument with her, he discovers his little brother sitting on the keys because he enjoys watching him fight with their mother.

Idalia - working late at night on school work, when her crush shows up at her window.

Hilaryd - angry at her sister for being a drama queen.

Final Presentations:
Giselle - polite pickpocket who tries to return a cheap broken watch she stole from her victim. Gets arrested for her consideration

Tuesday, May 15th:

 Amanda Broom -  Difficult friend who is very selfish
Yessenia - Breaks up with boyfriend over phone b/c he never has time for her
Andrea - Trying to talk friend out of committing suicide
Mackenzie - Mom wants her to give eulogy at her abusive father's funeral

Called on:
Karen - Angry at her mom because she is comparing her litttle sister's elementary school grades, which are A's and B's, to her own when she was in elementary school.

David - Blew up house using bug spray
Salamata - kidnapped as a baby by drug lords, she is now about to be reunited with her real parents. She also finds out she is not sixteen, but eighteen!



Wednesday, May 16th:
Presentations of the last of the final drafts and presentations of the presentations:
Final Draft:

Dennis – Interrogated by killer cop who actually killed his best friend

Yadira – kidnapped by government agency who has been stalking her

Magdalina – sister has robbed a bank and wants her to hide the money for her.

Sam – a young girl from a troubled family talking to dead brother at grave site who was killed by gang violence

Taylor – Comforting her sister who is grieving over the death of their cousin who is her sister’s best friend

Final Presentation:

Alissa – Friend going to a different school and they are drifting apart. She feels betrayed because her friend is now hanging out with an estranged friend who had broken off with the both of them.

Ublester – Friend playing soccer accidentally breaks the next-door neighbor’s car window. Neighbor says they have to each pay twenty-five dollars. Ublester has to break the news to his father who then grounds him.

Thursday, May 17th: 

Final Presentations:

Makenzie – talking to friend about mom pressuring her to give the eulogy at her abusive father’s funeral.

Joseph – on a date with a girl he likes but who so clearly only likes him for his money. Funny!

Friday, May 18th:

Final Presentations:
Ilan: Accidentally sets fire to the backyard. Tries to put it out - while he's on crutches. Then his mom shows up and he has a lot of explaining to do.
Discussion, critiques

Bryan: Looking for keys to take his brother to soccer. He calls their mother to see if she knows where they are. His mother is notorious for her wicked sense of humor and flightiness with keys - she constantly loses them in a series of bizarre twists which always winds up getting Bryan injured. They get in an argument when Bryan brings up these zany escapades. He hangs up annoyed but eventually figures out his little brother was sitting on them all along because he likes to see his big brother and his mom fight.
