Finish copying your script
Then do the “Who-What-Where-When-How” Journal
Go through your script and write a paragraph on each person, place, thing, or event that your character talks about or refers to.

Tuesday, March 28th:  
 
Journal: Describe the person you are talking to: What do they look like? What is their personality like? What is your relationship to the person? Why are you telling this person your problems? What do you want from this person?

If you are talking to yourself, then who or what are you talking about? Why are you talking about this person or this situation?

If you are talking to yourself, then what is the other person doing? Where are you when you are watching (stalking) this person? Where are you in the scene – at home, at school? What are you doing?

Pass out the Dance Show critiques.

Ms. Goldschein’s dance show is this weekend:

The show is Friday @ 7p.m., Saturday @ 7p.m., and Sunday @ 2 p.m., March 24th, March 25th, March 26th. If you see it and would like to get extra credit points, please take the Extra Credit Critique paper, follow the directions on the critique, and write a one page review of the show.



If you wish to usher, then you need to be at school at 5 p.m. on Friday or Saturday. You should dress nicely, nice black pants or skirt, white blouse or shirt, and nice shoes.  Your duties include cleaning the lobby, setting up the flower table, arranging the flowers to sell, and selling the flowers. Before and during the show, you may be asked to be a flower runner, which means running the flowers backstage to the dancers. After the show, you will be expected to clean up and put away the flowers.



Attending the dance show as an audience member = 100

Critique = 200 points

Ushering = 100 points per show

The monologues are passed out randomly. If you don’t like the monologue you were randomly given, then you can trade monologues and negotiate with each other until you find one you like.

Self Reflection on the First Scene

Your self-reflection must be typed.
 Please answer these questions on a separate sheet of paper.
Please incorporate these questions in your answers.
Please answer in complete sentences.
One word answers will not be given credit.
This will be due on Friday, March 17th.

Students worked together to do an improvisation about an event which occurs prior to the scene which causes the scenes to occur:

Helpers: Latija, Brana ( mean girls who used to be Malia's best friends in middle school who rejected her once they reached high school because she is too nerdy.

Brana plays Amanda who tells Jaspreet to ask Rachel out on  a date
Gerrardo plays Rachel’s dad, the mail carrier, who talks to Jaspreet when he arrives at the house to pick up his daughter.

“Hanging Out!” – Naiya and Brana
Helpers:
Brats: Verena and Eli
Nikki: Drill Team Captain
Latija: Band Director
Malia: Mean teacher
Naiya and Brana go around the circuit of all four people – the brats, the drill captain, the band director, and the mean teacher – three times fast to get across the idea of a typical day in their school year.

Monday, March 6th: 
The grading period opens this Thursday and closes on Thursday, March 16th. On Friday, you are going to turn in your folder and in your folder you need to have the following:
1.     Your script – you will get additional points if you have the original script
2.     Your copied script
3.     Your “Who-What-Where-When-How” (back story) of your script
4.     Your relationship with the other character in the script
5.     Your character’s history!

Today for your journal entry, please answer the following questions for your character’s history?
1.     What city or town is your character living in now? Describe it.
2.     Who are your parents? Describe them. What do they do for a living?
3.     Describe your home. Is it a nice house. Is it comfortable? Do you like it?
4.     Do you have any siblings – brothers or sisters? Who are they? Do you like them and get along with them? If you don’t get along with them, why not?
5.     What grade are you in school? Describe your school, your classes. What is your favorite class? Your least favorite class?
6.     Who are your friends? Describe them. What do you like about them? What annoys you about them?
7.     Do you have people you dislike? Why? Do they dislike you? Why?
8.     What is the central conflict you have in the story? What do you want to happen regarding the central conflict?
Tried to work with Anthony and Julio on “Back to Square One” – Julio said he had to go to bathroom and was gone for fifteen minutes.
Devon could not find script for me to work with him on his monologue.
