Kids stand in a corner. Someone is selected to be in the middle. S/he walks up to an actor in the circle, mimes opening the door, the actor steps out and engages the person in the middle in a brief improv.  Repeat!

Theatre Games:
Grave Yard:
Students are frozen statues in a museum.  Two students walk about as security guards. If the statues are caught moving, they are out of the game.

Dead Fish:
Everyone played. People sit motionless, expressionless while a team of people walk about trying to make them laugh. If someone laughs, then that person is out.

Break into groups and work on their “Three Scenes and a Phrase”.
Objective is to work on the first scene and get it up on its feet.

Finished the first two scenes.
Marriage Proposal and purchase of a way too expensive engagement ring.
Student’s writing dismissed by English teacher; student grows up to be a great writer.  Teacher apologizes but apology is lame.

Break into your groups.  You will come up with a phrase composed of at least three words, which can be used in a variety of emotional contexts. You will then work with the other actors in your group to create three different scenes using the phrase in three different ways.
