Have them work quietly in pairs writing a short scene. 

Have them pair up to write a short two page scene.  Tell them they will perform it when we return from the Thanksgiving Break. 

The scene should satisfy the following requirements:

The scene must have:

Two characters

A relationship between the two characters (for example: best friends)

A setting (for example: the park, the mall, a desert island, etc)

A conflict (for example: they are starving on an island and they discover food that’s enough to feed one person)

A resolution of some sort

There cannot be swearing or physical violence of any sort.
