Continue presenting scenes today for midterms.
After you present your scenes, please turn in your notebook.

Self Reflection on the First Scene

Your self-reflection must be typed.
 Please answer these questions on a separate sheet of paper.
Please incorporate these questions in your answers.
Please answer in complete sentences.
One word answers will not be given credit.
This will be due on Friday, March 17th.

1.     Did you try your best on the scene?
2.     If you did not try your best, why not?
3.     What could you have done to make your scene better?
4.     Did you rehearse everyday with your scene partner?
5.     What was the biggest difficulty in rehearsing with your scene partner?
6.     Did you memorize your lines?
7.     What helped you the most in memorizing your lines?
8.     What was the most difficult part in memorizing your lines?
9.     When you performed your scene, did you speak audibly (loud) enough for your audience to hear you?
10. Did you try to enunciate (speak clearly) so the audience could understand you?
11. When you were performing, did you listen while the other character was speaking?
12. When you were performing, did you believe in your environment or setting? In other words, if your scene was set in a school classroom, did you believe you were actually there?

Final scene presentations for the first round of scenes:

Inciting Incident:
Students worked together to do an improvisation about an event which occurs prior to the scene which causes the scenes to occur:

“Waves” – Malia and Nathan (nerdy best friends)
Helpers: Latija, Brana ( mean girls who used to be Malia's best friends in middle school who rejected her once they reached high school because she is too nerdy.

“The Disappearance of Daniel Hand”
Nikki - runaway
Helpers: Jaspreet, Anthony, and Latija (Latija and Anthony are Nikki's parents who forbid Nikki to date her loser boyfriend.)

Helpers: Eli (Abused boy who runs away from home. Emily goes in search for him.)

Theatre Games: Freeze-tag with object
Participants: Brana, Naiya, Latija, Nathan, Hannah, Nikki, Eli, Malia, Anthony, Davon, Briana

Inciting Events:
“Check, Please!” – Briana, Danny
Helpers: Malia (2) has two scenes: setting up Briana with Danny on a blind date.

“Less Than Human” – Rachel and Jaspreet
Helpers:
Brana plays Amanda who tells Jaspreet to ask Rachel out on  a date
Gerrardo plays Rachel’s dad, the mail carrier, who talks to Jaspreet when he arrives at the house to pick up his daughter.

“Hanging Out!” – Naiya and Brana
Helpers:
Brats: Verena and Eli
Nikki: Drill Team Captain
Latija: Band Director
Malia: Mean teacher
Naiya and Brana go around the circuit of all four people – the brats, the drill captain, the band director, and the mean teacher – three times fast to get across the idea of a typical day in their school year.

“The Play’s Not the Thing” – Davon
Helper:
Briana – Mom who tries to talk her son into putting on a rabbit suit to do the school play.
