Monday, May 18th:

Guest Artists: Alicia and James

Broke class into scenes. Many students not here due to field trip.

James worked with BILOXI BLUES: Travione and Ray did not have scripts; pretended they didn’t know the blocking even though James and I blocked their scene two weeks ago. Ray and Travione not cooperative.

Alicia worked with DMV TYRANT: George and Cheyenne  (A)

                                                            Jardine on “Too Old for This; Too Young for That” (A)

Gave Hakop a monologue “I am Not My Brother!”Just sitting there with earphones on. The other cast members in his scene ("Mean Girls") were here today due to field trip.

Tamani and Tamara not working. Total confusion about scenes and monologues they are supposed to be working on.  They were first assigned “He Promised Never Again” but that fell through.  Then I assigned Tamani “Either Mom or Me”.  Tamara is not working on anything right now.  I gave her a monologue but she doesn’t have it and I don’t remember what it was.

Exhausted!

Wednesday, May 20th: 

 

Not here today. Had sub. Sub had them do the alphabet game.

Thursday, May 21st: 

Broke class into their scenes to rehearse.

 Assigned Kenneth another ten page research paper on Bertolt Brecht.

Walked him into library to begin work.

Both Travione and Ray lost their scripts.

Gave Joanna and Tamara a scene together – which I had originally given to Joanna, I think, and Tamara anyway.

Gave everyone a place to rehearse.

BILOXI BLUES was scattered and Ray was wandering around in the lobby. I corralled them closer to me, but Ray still kept wandering around.

Worked with “Forever-n-Ever” : Amy Garcia and Precious

Blocked it and ran it once.

Amy knows lines but Precious still is holding book. 

Friday, May 22nd: 

Split class into scenes and worked with:

THE CHILDREN’S HOUR

Jasmine subbed for the absent Michelle

Finished blocking it and cut a huge chunk from it.

Worked on “Teach Me How to Cry” with Yanira 

Blocked it and ran it twice

Ray took a test with another teacher so was not present.

Anthony took a test with his resource teacher so was not present. 

BILOXI BLUES only had Travione, Juan, Jaylan and they were not working. Juan was hanging out by door and had to be told two times to come back and sit with his group to run lines.

Gave "Three Deep" with those whose scene partners were absent.
