Sing-Off Competition: Three Rounds

The Entrance Game: 
Actors are given a scenario that has just occurred offstage and they carry that event or situation in with them as they enter the stage. 

Briana: just killed her entire family
Anthony: at a doctor's office for a physical
Hannah: coming home drunk from a party and not wanting parents to find out
Jeidn: she just walked into heaven

Tuesday, January 24th

Scenarios are given to students who enter the room playing the situation which just occurred or is occurring as they enter the room.

Students from Lesly to Jeydn have performed. 

Wednesday, January 25th: 
I was absent today. Students played theatre games

Thursday, January 26th: 
Students will work in groups of five and create a scenario of experiencing an event just prior to entering the room.

Broke into groups to work on “The Entrance Scene”

1^st Group: Nathan, Rachel, Verena, Gerardo – lobby

2^nd Group: Hannah, Lesly, Danny, Kimblery, Nikki - lobby

3^rd Group: Jaspreet, Elijah, Davon, Latija – 1^st Window

4^th Group: Anthony, Briana, Brana, Kateryn, Jeiden – stage 

Friday, January 27th: 

Brief Warm-up!

Worked with:

Elijah, Emily, Davon, Latija,

1.     Video Game: Latija playing a video game; Elijah and Emily wake up as characters in a video game; Davon is the “Mushroom”. Latija finishes the game, and they wake up from their horrible nightmare.

2.     Briana, Anthony, Jeidn, Kateryn, Brana – “Scared Straight!”Brana played three different prisoners who are brought in by Briana to scare the three kids straight. Anthony shot his mom with a bb gun, gets tazered by Briana; Jeidn spoiled rich kid who shoplifted, Kateryn – not clear what she did.

3.     Nathan, Malia, Rachel, Verena, Gerardo – Kids row for two day to the Bahamas; they hear the news Trump has won; Rachel faints; kids start fighting; then they see Mom and Dad and stop fighting. Funny, tight, energetic, fast moving but a little confusing.

4.     Hannah, Nikki, Lesly, Danny, Kimberly – Nikki and Kimberly are at a Chris Brown concert; Hannah, Lesly and Danny show up thinking it’s a church.

On Monday, finish up with Jennifer’s group – Jennifer, Onyx, Sandra, Stephanie, Naiya.
